Current Solar Flare Activity on 12/21/2012

12 21 2012, or December 21 2012 is often a date associated with the finish with the world. This date, 12 21 2012, arrives mostly from the extended count in the Mayan calendar. The Mayans for reasons unidentified were quite innovative within the study of astronomy. Their calendar is really many calendars in one. The calendar referred to as the extended count is the one which notes 12 21 2012 since the conclude in the earth as we realize it.The reason for this day is quite problematic. On December 21, 2012 or 12 21 2012, for the 1st time in 26000 a long time, the sun will conjunct the milky way, along with the elliptical plane

The Mayan Calendar has left us with a profound mystery. Academia, science and the clergy have labored long over the question as to why the calendar was extrapolated into the 21st century and why, on December 21st, 2012, it abruptly ends?

Eschatology could be the research in the stop of life on earth. There are several speculations just before 12 21 2012. One of many most recent instances for such speculation was referred to as Y2K. Though Y2K primarily was regarding computer systems, some noticed it like an indication from the end occasions. I think that a lot of folks experience that 2012 could be the conclude for any range of good reasons. Very first of all, guilt could play a part within this. Surely the human race has considerably to be ashamed of. Furthermore, many weather conditions changes and adjustments to our environment have taken spot. We've got noticed what alterations in local weather can do to our civilization in storms such as Katrina. Moreover to all of this, considerably of the world is facing horrible financial conditions

As the predicted date of the end of the world, that is the 12 21 2012 Polar Shift, draws nearer, the more we need to focus our attention on the innumerable things that could possibly happen on planet Earth. Theorists and experts alike have in fact, enumerated a number of possibilities that can take place come year 2012. Although there is no scientific proof to confirm that all such predictions will surely come true, there are countless of predictions about the possibilities that can happen in the envisaged Doomsday of 2012. Here are just a few of these possibilities that you should know regarding the December 12, 2012 Polar Shift so that you can be prepared as to what can possibly occur during such time:
1. Asteroid, Meteor And Comet
First and foremost, experts and theorists predict the possibility of experiencing an orbit which may culminate by colliding with our planet earth in the year 2012. While this may be the most predictable catastrophe come 2012, it will still be good to not doubt it and instead, equip ourselves with the appropriate survival kit to make sure that we stay alive even if the predicted phenomenon finally takes place.
2. Coronal Mass Ejection From The Sun
For those who may not know it, the CME or Coronal Mass Ejection which came from the sun and caused the year 1859's solar storm, is actually true. Such event took place during the month of September of 1859 bringing about a failure in the telegraph systems from corner to corner of North America as well as Europe. The same event is in fact, predicted to occur in the year 2012 when the end of the world is envisaged to take place. What is more, it is also forecast that there are going to be huge storms bringing such massive power blackouts at the same time, the wreckage of satellites.
3. Magnetic Pole Shift
Polar reversals such as the 12 21 2012 Polar Shift are predicted to be occurring at a time gap of 400,000 years. In fact, the most current polar shift that occurred happened about 730,000 years ago and not too many people even know about it. You see, even our scientists still lack the knowledge about polar reversals, in the same manner that they are not so sure until now, about how such magnetic fields are generated. Although they are able to predict that geomagnetic reversals such as the 12 21 2012 Polar Shift, would take about hundreds and hundreds of years to take place and that they actually cause no harm at all. But then this has been disputed as it was found out that polar shifts can actually take place in just a snap of the fingers, yes, as in anytime.
4. Explosion From The Black Hole
Another possibility that is expected to take place after a polar shift in planet Earth is the possible danger of a Galactic core explosion, or what is simply an explosion from the Black Hole at the center or middle of our galaxy. It is expected that such incident will bring about some cosmic ray super waves that would be gestured by a burst of gamma rays. These bursts are actually believed to cause the massively destructive tsunamis in our planet.

There are many theories regarding just what will transpire on 12 21 2012. Several feel that solar flare activity will improve significantly and that a huge solar flare will strike the earth causing destruction. Other theories incorporate the earth being struck by a mystery planet or asteroid known as planet x. Nonetheless other speculations say that the earths wobble on its axis, will trigger drastic modifications while in the earths weather and environment creating mass destruction by components this kind of as tidal waves. Even though there are many diverse theories, several authorities agree that "something" will occur in 2012.Some people imagine that 2012 will mark the finish of everyday living on our planet, even though other people do not. Some see it as being a time of drastic change and survival for those that transform spiritually. So called specialists link the Mayan calendar with other prophesies these as Nostradamus, as well as the end occasions explained while in the Bible inside the guide of Revelations. Nevertheless there is certainly little or no if any connection to that actual day in both of these resources.
.
All of this could look just like the occasions preceding the end times.Considering that considerably with the info on 12 21 2012 is speculation, it is critical to have your data from a trustworthy resource. With this way you may make intelligent and educated decisions on what you feel. There are numerous authorities that sense 12 21 2012 is often a time for survival and good change. Let us hope that's true. 2012 Specifics

Report of Solar and Geophysical Activity 27 Jul 2012

IA. Analysis of Solar Active Regions and Activity from 26/2100Z
to 27/2100Z: Solar activity was moderate. Sympathetic activity
between Regions 1530 (S19E28) and 1532 (S20E53) produced a M2/1f
x-ray event at 1726Z on 27 July. The event was accompanied by a
Tenflare (340 sfu), type II and IV radio sweeps. The type II was
reported with an estimated speed of 2099 km/s, however a radial
speed estimate of the CME obtained from STEREO B coronagraph was
measured near 500 km/s. Initial analysis suggests that the transient
will not likely have a geoeffective trajectory. New Region 1533
(S28E18) developed today and was numbered. There were some
preliminary observations indicating a new region (not yet numbered)
rotating onto the disk in the southern hemisphere, behind Region
1532.

IB. Solar Activity Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be at
low levels for the next 3 days (28-30 July).

IIA. Geophysical Activity Summary 26/2100Z to 27/2100Z:
The geomagnetic field was quiet. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux
at geosynchronous orbit reached high levels during the period.

IIB. Geophysical Activity Forecast: The geomagnetic field is
expected to be quiet to active on day 1 (28 July) as the onset of
coronal hole (CH) high speed stream effects are forecasted. The
field should remain mostly unsettled on day 2 (29 July) with
possible nighttime active levels from substorms. Conditions should
recover from unsettled to active levels to mostly quiet on day 3 (30
July) as CH effects wane.

Solar Storms Are Going to Strike Earth From 2010 to 2012

NASA has officially confirmed that for the next few years we will see a huge increase in solar storms directly from the Sun. These solar winds should start this year, and last well into the year 2012. What are the five possible effects of a solar storm?
After a team of experts met at the Space Weather Enterprise Forum in Washington DC, and discussed the effects of pending solar storm activity. This discussion focused more on the defense of our satellite and communication systems, and finding a way to monitor each new storm as it reaches Earth from the Sun.
Dr Fisher the current head of NASA's Heilophysics division was quoted to have said during this groundbreaking meeting, "We are taking this very seriously indeed.," and commented on how NASA are monitoring potential winds coming from the sun, with their own group of satellites- creating an early warning system of sorts. But he did add a series of experts are going to start coordinating a response to any impending storm activity.
Here are five possible effects of any solar storm attack from the Sun:
1. Satellite Attacks
Our planet has a ring of satellites that have been in space since the USA, and Russia started a space race in the early 1950's. Some of these satellites have now become "Space Junk," but others allow us to watch live televised events, call from our mobile phones, use a GPS systems, access the internet., and even travel by air.
Solar flares could damage or destroy these satellites, and adversely effect how we live on the ground. The same group of experts who met in Washington, discussed the urgent need to protect these satellites from the increased volatile storm winds from the Sun.
2. The Effect on Military Satellites
It has been no secret that some satellites floating above us in space are strictly for military use. We are unaware if these satellites are armed or not, but we know they are also used to help the military monitor countries on the ground. Could solar storms damage, destroy or cause some malfunction in these satellites?. It is a possibility, and we may wonder what damage this may bring.
3. A temporary age of power blackouts?
Solar storms can knock out and burn out electrical transformers that are essential to maintaining our power grids. Once knocked out or" fried" by the radiation from a storm, they have to be replaced in order to re-start our electrical systems. Depending on the velocity of the storm, electrical power could be knocked out for hours, days, weeks, months or in a worse case scenario- years.
4. Beautiful but cruel auroras
Once a solar storm hits earth an aurora, similar to the Northern and Southern lights will appear at night. This beautiful but cruel cosmic sound and light show is a prelude to our electrical grids being hit by radiation from the storm.
5. Air Disasters
Once a solar storm hits our atmosphere, anything electrical in space or in our own skies, could be adversely affected. Aircraft could lose their power, whilst GPS systems become distorted with the falling radiation. A mild storm may not affect us, but stronger storms could hit aircraft, satellites and space craft, leading to airspace becoming a no-fly zone.
We cannot attack a solar storm, just as we cannot attack strong winds or rains. Space weather is a fact of life, which we have to get used to, and just as we get forewarned about impending hurricanes, we do have a satellite called, "Ace," that forewarns us of any impending storm. Giving us time to prepare for the on-coming storm. Yet the only real defense against a storm, is to shut down our power grids, satellites and close down airspace until the storm passes.
What happens in the universe does affect what happens to us here on Earth. And for years the effects of solar flares have led to many doomsday movies and imaginative works of science fiction. Yet this is all speculative, as even our own experts freely admit - no one is really sure what the final results of these incoming storms will bring, except the fact storm season is ever closer.

Solar flare news may 2012

A strong solar flare reaching M5.7 was detected around Sunspot 1476 and peaked at 04:18 UTC Thursday morning. This event also generated a 10cm Radio Burst (TenFlare). Most of the flare events thus far have not produced any large Coronal Mass Ejections. When watching the latest STEREO Ahead COR2 movie, it does not appear that a substantial CME was produced. Continue to monitor the Solar X-Ray Flux for further activity.

Solar Update
Sunspot 1476 continues to produce moderate solar flares including a short duration M5.7 event at 04:18 UTC Thursday morning. When watching the latest STEREO Ahead COR2 movie, it does not appear that a substantial CME was produced. This will region will continue to be a threat for an X-Class event over the next 24-48 hours. Sunspot 1477 located in the southeast quadrant is a Beta sunspot group and magnetically simple. Sunspot 1471 located in the southwest quadrant is now ready to rotate onto the western limb and out of direct Earth view.

Updated May 10 2200 UTC
Joint USAF/NOAA Report of Solar and Geophysical Activity SDF Number 131 Issued at 2200Z on 10 May 2012 IA. Analysis of Solar Active Regions and Activity from 09/2100Z to 10/2100Z: Solar activity has been at high levels for the past 24 hours with multiple M-class solar flares observed. Region 1476 (N12E08) was responsible for almost all of the activity with 3 M-class events observed, the largest being a M5/2b event at 10/0418Z. Associated with these events, were discrete frequency radio bursts, Tenflares, and even a Type IV radio sweep. Region 1476 has shown mixed growth and shear effects across the polarities as it continues to evolve. A weak Earth directed CME was observed in STEREO COR2 A and B imagery early in the period. Analysis and current models show this CME joining the current coronal hole high speed stream (CH HSS). Region 1477 (S22E47) was split into two regions today as SDO magnetogram data indicated the leader and follower sunspot groups were actually two magnetic bipoles. Leader group is Region 1477 and follower group is now Region 1478 (S24E55). IB. Solar Activity Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be at moderate levels with a slight chance for X-class events for the next three days (11 - 13 May) as Region 1476 continues to grow and evolve. IIA. Geophysical Activity Summary 09/2100Z to 10/2100Z: The geomagnetic field has been at quiet to active levels for the past 24 hours with an isolated minor storm period observed at high latitudes. Solar wind measurements, as observed by the ACE spacecraft, showed a continued increase in solar wind speeds to around 620 km/s, a drop off in solar wind density, and the total IMF began to stabilize around 5 nT. These characteristics are indicative of a CH HSS. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux at geosynchronous orbit reached high levels during the period. IIB. Geophysical Activity Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be at quiet to unsettled levels with a chance for active periods for the next three days (11 - 13 May). The increased activity is due to both the continued CH HSS effects and three weak, slow moving CMEs intertwined within.

Todays Solar Flare Activity April 23 2012 Causing Geomagnetic Storm Aurora

Todays Solar Flare Activity April 23 2012 Causing Geomagnetic Storm Aurora

Analysis of Solar Active Regions and Activity from 21/2100Z
to 22/2100Z: Solar activity was low. Occasional low-level C-class
flares occurred. Region 1459 (S15W25 - Dki/beta) produced a single
C-class flare and showed signs of gradual decay in its intermediate
portion. Region 1465 (S18E14 - Dai/beta) produced two C-class flares
and showed spot and penumbral development as well as some polarity
mixing in its intermediate portion. New Region 1466 (N12E29 -
Cso/beta) emerged early in the period and gradually grew. No
Earth-directed CMEs were observed during the period.

IB. Solar Activity Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be low
through the period (23 - 25 April) with a chance for an isolated
M-class flare.

IIA. Geophysical Activity Summary 21/2100Z to 22/2100Z:
Geomagnetic field activity was at quiet to unsettled levels with a
brief interval of active levels at high latitudes.

IIB. Geophysical Activity Forecast: Geomagnetic field activity is
expected to be at quiet to unsettled levels during days 1 - 2 (23 -
24 April) with a chance for active levels due mainly to a recurrent
coronal hole high-speed stream. Weak CME-passage effects are also
possible on day 1 from the partial-halo CME observed on 19 April.
Field activity is expected to decrease to mostly quiet levels on day
3 (25 April).
 Solar Update
Things remain very quiet on the Sun with no noteworthy solar flares to report. Sunspot 1462 is now heading for the southwest limb. A new sunspot may be hiding on the southeast limb and will soon rotate into direct Earth view.

Aurora Watch / G1 Geomagnetic Storm
A incoming CME shock swept past our planet at 03:25 UTC. A geomagnetic sudden impulse of 31 nT was detected by the Boulder, Colorado magnetometer. The ACE Spacecraft did show a solar wind increase to near 400 km/s. Only minor geomagnetic activity resulted at very high latitudes.
Update: A Minor Geomagnetic Storm (Kp=5) is now in progress at high latitudes. This is due to a south tilting component of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field combined with an elevated solar wind speed. Be on the lookout for Aurora if it is dark outside.

ALERT: Geomagnetic K-index of 5

Report of latest solar flare activity April 20 2012

Despite the amount of large Sunspots on the Earth facing side of the Sun, solar activity has been fairly low over the past 24 hours. None of the current visible sunspots are magnetically complex (at this time). There will remain the chance for an isolated M-Class event. The sunspot totals are also helping to increase the daily Solar Flux readings. The solar flux ended near 140 on Thursday.

Prepared jointly by the U.S. Dept. of Commerce, NOAA,
Space Weather Prediction Center and the U.S. Air Force.

Updated Apr 19 2200 UTC

Joint USAF/NOAA Report of Solar and Geophysical Activity

IA. Analysis of Solar Active Regions and Activity from 18/2100Z
to 19/2100Z: Solar activity was low. The largest event of the period
was a C7 x-ray flare at 19/1126Z associated with Types II and IV
radio sweeps and a non-Earth-directed CME. This event may have
originated in old Region 1455 (N05, L=206), now about two days
beyond the west limb. Regions 1460 (N16W01) and 1463 (S26W49) each
produced a low-level C-class flare. Region 1460 showed spot growth
in its intermediate portion. Region 1462 (S24W31) produced a C1
flare at 19/1515Z associated with a CME that may have had an
Earthward component. Further analysis is required to determine if
the CME is likely to be geoeffective. New Region 1464 (N23E01,
Bxo-Beta) was numbered.

IB. Solar Activity Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be low
during days 1 - 3 (20 - 22 April) with a chance for an isolated
M-class flare.

Solar Flare Impact in 2012

The Sun revolves at a 7.25 degree angle just like the Earth. However, due to its imperfect rotation behavior, the sun tends to "wobble", disrupting the internal core and making it highly unstable. The internal disruption eventually works its path to the outer surface and shoots out as a solar flare. Solar flares are little bits of the sun that launches out from the sun, giving off hazardous radiation and tremendous electrical power that go out into space like a bullet.

Solar Cycles

Just like how the earth has 4 seasons throughout the year, the sun goes through "solar cycles" taking 11 years to complete. The previous cycle was at its peak in 2001. Every cycle has a stage when the flares are most powerful, often occurring close to the solar equator, known as the "solar maximum", with the next massive one expected to take place in December 21, 2012 - a date predicted by the Mayan Calendar! Recently, the sun has been going through a long period of quiet solar activity as scientists have concluded that the sun is closing in on the final cycle. The quiet period alarmed NASA scientists and as they issued warnings that we will be seeing a seriously violent sun storm soon.

Impact to Earth

Many solar flares that hit earth were minor, however, small flares can still be threatening. For example, in 1989 a flare struck North America and wiped out many electric grids in the United States and Canada resulting in blackouts. Solar flares are also known to affect human life because a huge flare that's predicted to strike in 2012 would completely take out satellites, telecommunications, computers, and GPS.

Solar flares 2012 predictions are one of many cataclysmic events slated for the year of uncertainty. Always be informed on the latest news and learn ways to prepare and survive the 2012 predictions doomsday.
